Fire hoods are a requirement for all in-ceiling speakers that are installed in or adjacent to habitable rooms or within a location of access or escape.

Featuring the unique Fire Red Low Smoke Zero Halogen, triple layer acoustic material which boasts the highest acoustic damping in its class and conforms to the latest IEE and Building Regulations for Fire and Acoustic integrity of ceilings.
The internal collar means there is no need for fiddly pins or clips. The hood is clamped firmly into place by the speaker swing clamps, forming a far better fire and acoustic seal with the plaster board and vastly reducing your install time.

Hoody 1 Fire and Acoustic Speaker Hood

Meets UK building Regulations relating to audio and fire dispersion in the home. This fire hood is especially designed for in-ceiling speakers and features a 66 minute fire rating, is Part E acoustic compliant and covers all makes of speakers from 3″ to 7″ designs (265 x 160mm). This fire hood is tested to BS476 part 23, prevents fire from penetrating the ceiling void and retains your ceilings fire protection integrity. The hood, due to its acoustic construction, will also reduce sound travel from the speaker to the rooms above its location.
